Molecule Man – sort of behind the scenes

Molecule Man is a series of of aluminium sculptures, designed by American artist Jonathan Borofsky says the Hitch-hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Wikipedia .

One of them can be found between Oberbaum- and Elsen-bridges in Berlin (Germany). And at this time of year the sun is setting roughly right behind them resulting in stunning photos – if you do it right. And the weather plays along.

Golden Circle – My Iceland Weekend: Day 3

It sounds like the subtitle of a Kingsmen movie: The Golden Circle. However, it is obviously also a roundtrip to the most important and accessible sights in South Iceland. And today, I was going to see a couple of the golden circle highlights: The Geysir Geothermal Area, Gullfoss and Kerið were on my list. With hundreds of buses on the roads, access to them would turn out to be not as easy as I thought.

Water Everywhere – My Iceland Weekend: Day 2

‘Water Everywhere’ or ‘Falls and Beaches’ – both could have been titles of this blog entry. However, falls carry water and beaches are usually separating land from water, and then there was this additional water in the air… so it became ‘Water Everywhere’.
Today I was going to see a couple of the highlights of the south coast of Iceland: Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Vik, and the DC3 plane wreck were on my list. But I also visited Reynisfjara Beach and the Dyrhólaey Lighthouse – or so I planned.

My Iceland Weekend: Day 1 – via Brindavik to Hvolsvöllur

Maybe not that perfect start into my Iceland Weekend . The weather forecast for the coming days was not looking too promising: At times heavy rain, strong winds, and a thick cloud cover.
That looked like it would spoil my effort to see northern lights. Not completely unexpected but unfortunate nevertheless.
The more I was surprised to see the sun after we landed at Keflavik that afternoon. However, black rain-clouds were looming at the western horizon.
